The Perfect Derma™ Peel is a safe, effective medium-depth peel meant for all skin types and ethnicities. The procedure is virtually painless, requiring no pre-peel skin preparation and little downtime. The Perfect Derma™ Peel is also the only peel that includes the powerful anti-oxidant Glutathione, which slows down the aging process, lightens and brightens the skin and helps to prevent and minimize wrinkles. This procedure can help you fight the effects of sun damage, all the daily delivered environmental assaults and time itself.
What issues can the Perfect Derma™ Peel help?
It’s a powerful, yet non-damaging chemical peel that can effectively take years off of your sun damaged or aging skin. The Perfect Derma™ Peel can be used to address various skin conditions like pigmentation abnormalities, Melasma, post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, photo damage and laxity.
How do I prepare for my
Perfect Derma™ Peel?
The Perfect Derma Peel® requires absolutely no pre-peel skin preparation. We advise our patients that if they use a daily skin care regimen of retinoids, they may continue to do so up to three days before the procedure.
Patients should refrain from using glycolic products or retinoids for 10 days post- peel.
What can I expect after my
Perfect Derma Peel®?
Day 1
The day of the peel application is considered to be “Day 1.” The peel solution should remain on the treated areas for at least 6 hours. During that time, you shouldn’t touch, rub, wash or apply make-up to the treated areas. This is essential for achieving full effects. The treated areas will feel tight and may appear slightly darker. If you are not experiencing any irritation or discomfort, the chemical peel solution can remain on until your evening cleansing or even overnight.
Day 2 Morning
Gently wash and dry the treated areas. Vigorously apply the first Post-Peel Towelette to the treated areas, and then let them thoroughly dry. The towelette solution should be left on for 30 minutes, after which you will apply a mineral- based SPF 30 like titanium dioxide. Makeup may then be applied if you’d like.
Day 2 Evening
30-60 minutes before bedtime, gently wash and dry the treated areas. Apply the second Post-Peel Towelette to the treated areas, and then leave the solution on overnight. If you are experiencing irritation or discomfort, you may apply a small amount of The Perfect Derma Moisturizer® two to three times daily. You can also apply a cold compress against the irritated area for relief, if needed. If there is no significant irritation, do not use any moisturizing products on the treated areas until peeling begins--usually by Day 3. During the peeling process, you should also avoid heavy exercise and excessive sweating.
Day 3-6
Peeling typically begins on day 3. After it starts, apply The Perfect Derma Moisturizer® (included in the Patient Home Care Kit) to the treated areas two to three times a day. This will control the peeling and relieve the tightness. The moisturizer should be used for one week for Caucasian patients and two weeks for African American, Asian and Hispanic and patients. If you run out of The Perfect Derma Moisturizer®, you may substitute a 1% hydrocortisone cream. It’s important that you don’t rub, pick or pull on the peeling skin. The peeling needs to occur naturally, and rubbing, picking or pulling may cause scarring. Both morning and night, you should gently wash (do not scrub) and dry the treated areas, and apply The Perfect Derma Moisturizer® as needed. Either continue to protect your skin with a mineral-based SPF 30 like titanium dioxide, or apply an SPF 30 sunscreen every two hours during sun exposure.
Day 7
The peeling process is mostly complete, though some mild sloughing may still be occurring in some of your treated areas. Continue to protect the skin with a mineral-based SPF 30 like titanium dioxide.
