Beautifill™ Fat Transfer

BeautiFill™ is the first and only seamless fat transfer process that makes it possible to go from fat harvesting to fat injection in a single step. This eliminates the need to process the harvested fat cells, which can destroy them or reduce their “viability” (ability to live and thrive in the new location).

In fact, during BeautiFill fat transfer, from 90% to 98% of the removed fat cells survive and are suitable for fat transfer into other areas of the body. This means that there is more natural fat to work with when enhancing breasts, shaping the buttocks or filling facial lines and contours.

“Autologous” is a medical term that means “from the same person”. The fat used to enhance the patient’s body during BeautiFill is taken from their own body – so it is “autologous”. the transfer process is also sometimes called “grafting” because the transferred fat cells are living – and so they are literally “grafted”, which means they become a living part of the body in the new area where they are injected.

One of the advantages of BeautiFill over other fat loss and body contouring procedures is that only a single treatment is needed, for immediate and permanent results.

CoolSculpting, SculpSure, WarmSculpting and other non-invasive fat loss treatments require a course of multiple treatments – and do not enable you to use the destroyed fat cells in other areas of the body. And, synthetic injections such as Juvederm and other “fillers” are absorbed by the body and must be repeated every few months. But BeautiFill lipo and fat transfer is “one and done” – for permanent fat loss and long-term fat grafting all in a single procedure.

Patients can expect to see both immediate fat loss in the liposuctioned area – and immediately visible volume in the fat transfer area. Because the body can never make new fat cells, the fat loss or “lipo” portion of the treatment is permanent and the fat cells will never return in that area.  Additionally, the improvement in the area of fat transfer will last for years – because the living fat cells now become part of the treated area. This is an exponential improvement over synthetic dermal fillers that are absorbed by the body and dissipate in only a few to several months.

No. BeautiFill is an outpatient procedure performed in our office while the patient is completely awake, using a local anesthetic to numb and pain and avoid any discomfort during the liposuction or the fat transfer injection.

Because BeautiFill uses laser energy to remove the fat cells, rather than mechanical separation like traditional liposuction, there is considerably less bruising and swelling than with other lipo and or fat harvesting methods.

While it depends upon the volume of fat that was removed and restored, a period of mild swelling, bruising and soreness typically lasts for 24-72 hours. Tylenol can help manage any residual discomfort, and most patients are able to resume their normal daily activities by the next day if desired. Other patients prefer to schedule a Thursday or Friday fat transfer treatment and return to work on Monday after any swelling or discomfort has subsided.
